October 2023

I went to the funeral recently of someone who, many years ago, was very dear to
me. And although we had not been in touch for a few years, I couldn’t help but feel
sad, as all the happy memories came flooding back.

Yet, although one has to go through the grieving process, there is another way of
looking at death. In a recent channelling session, Jesus, speaking through the
medium, Tina Louise Spalding, pointed out that when one dies, the spirit simply
leaves the body behind, and moves on. He said it is just like walking out of one room
into another. There is no death, he stressed.

This reminded me of the following wise words of the Hindu Scripture, the Bhagavad
Gita:

“…The wise grieve not for those who live; and they grieve not for those who die – for
life and death shall pass away.

Because we all have been for all time: I, and thou, and those kings of men.
And we all shall be for all time, we all for ever and ever.

As the Spirit of our mortal body wanders on in childhood, and youth and old age,
the Spirit wanders on to a new body: of this the sage has no doubts…”
